Andras Group – Manta Tour / Nov 2011

Andras group has just left and we are really missing them! They have started with 5 days diving and staying on Wasini Island. Everybody was impressed by the biodiversity of the ocean, even guys with thousands of dives saw new things under water! We saw dolphins, giant ray, never ending macro creatures, and beautiful corals…

They went for a city tour in Mombasa, and the same night we went to discover the nightlife in Diani Beach – Shakatak Club (Shark Attack), I think it was an unforgettable night for all of us J

Right next morning safari started, I’m afraid Hans – the Dutch forest ranger did not even sleep for three days, and refused to sit down in the Land Cruiser… he was only looking for animals.

We hope to see you again in Kenya! Karibu tena,

Emi, Billy and the Team

Giants of the ocean!

Giants of the ocean - dive in Kenya

This week Andras’ group was more than lucky, they were diving with about 50 dolphins at Dolphin Point, saw a giant nudi branch, which was at least 30 cm long?!

And at Nyully reef we had the honour to be accompanied by three blackblotched stingrays, just arriving from the deep to have a good look at us, around 30m deep. They swam very closely around Hans, so Andras could take this amazing photo, you can see the size compared to the diver, the biggest ray was almost 3m diameter!

Birmingham Dive Show 2011

Birmingham Dive Show 2011We had a great time in Birmingham, met some old friends and made some new too. The show was busy, and we were happy to see, many visitors were interested to dive in Kenya. Everybody who has ever been to Africa came to us to talk about this amazing continent for a little while.

Our promotion with the 10% coupon was also very successful, so if you didn’t make it this year to the show, come next year, if you sign up to our newsletter, you get a 10% coupon!

Before the show we have visited the Sea Life Centre in Birmingham, just to get in the right mood for diving, my favourite was the hermit crab in a glass shell, so we could see how he is curled up in his house! Funny indeed!

diver magazineIf you ask people about Africa, you usually get one of two responses: the first has always wanted to go and experience this magical continent; the other would never go, not even if pulled by six elephants.

I have always wanted to see Africa, and I will never forget my first time in Kenya. Travellers used to call this fascination “mal d’Africa” – Africa sickness. But what was it that made me fall in love with the country at first sight?...’

African-swahili cooking course

African kitchen is delicious and various. Many other cultures has been leaving their fingertips on the menu of East Africa. The Indian Ocean provides great variety of sea food, the Indian influence has brought all sorts of curries, and thank to the English colonisation, all these are presented in the old colony style.

Africa is providing endless ingredients and spices, nothing can compare to fresh vanilla, pepper, clove or coconut milk.
