‘MANTA’ PACKAGE – 10 DAYS – from 1 430 € / person

Would you like to dive with dolphins and turtles? Or you are rather interested on macro life and underwater photography?

On Wasini Island, you can forget about stress and enjoy the absolute peace. Our chef will impress you with delicious coastal dishes, and you can enjoy the sunset from the comfortable sofas in the lounge.

Programme description:

After arrival, meet our guide on the Mombasa airport, and take the transfer to Wasini Island, which is 2 hours drive South from Mombasa. If you arrive soon enough, can start diving the same day, or can choose to rest for the day.

Next morning, after breakfast, we take a boat and head to one of the numerous dive sites in the area. The majority of the dive sites – with a few exceptions – are quite shallow, 13‐16 metres deep, which is particularly favoured by photographers. For deep dive our favourite is Nyulli reef, which always has a nice surprise for us, here you can see reef shark, or even a giant black blotched stingray. Wasini and its surroundings are included in the Kisite‐Mpunguti National Park. Wasini Island is famous about the bug population of dolphins, living around the island in the channel.

At the shallow dive sites, we can meet turtles, lobsters, colourful tropical fish in huge shoals, dolphins and between November and February manta rays or even whale shark too while during summer possible to spot humpback whales from the boat.

On the boat we serve tea, coffee, water, soft drinks, biscuits and fruits between the dives, and there is a restroom on the boat, where you can also change.

Those not diving, can spend the day snorkelling, swimming and sunbathing, and those who do not want to get wet at all, can see the wonderful marine life of the coral reefs through the glass bottom viewer from a small boat.

We get back to the island in the afternoon, where Mwanajabu will await us with a five‐course lunch. The courses include soup, crab, sea fish roasted on live coal, chicken‐ beef‐ or vegetable ragout, and side dishes like rice, chips, and the unmissable African chapati – African pita‐like bread.

Finally, we can have some coffee or tea and tropical fruits. Late in the afternoon, you can either take a rest, go for a walk on the island, swim in front of the dive centre, or watch the wonderful sea‐view, resting on a sofa in our lounge.

For the three‐course dinner, we will either have seafood, chicken or beef prepared in African style, and the last course is always tropical fruits.

There are five boat days and ten guided dives in the package. We will also take you to the ancient fossil coral garden situated on the West of the island, which, being in the flood area, is surrounded by mangrove swamps.
For the last day, and also for non‐divers, we have several optional programmes: sightseeing tour in Mombasa, quad biking,

kite surfing. We suggest to stay this night on Diani Beach, where you can enjoy the wide sandy beach and from here we can arrive to the safari park much sooner next day.

  • On Wasini Island – in ’camp’ class three‐bed rooms with own bathroom
  • On Wasini Island – in two‐person tents – using shared bathroom
  • Shimoni Reef Hotel*** ‐ across Paradise Divers, on the mainland

Early morning we leave Diani beach and head to Tsavo East National Park, which is famous about its red elephants, which can be only seen here. The movie: The Ghost and the Darkness with Michael Douglas tells a true story of the Tsavo East railway construction, when two lions have killed 130 workers within a year. No need to be afraid, the beasts are standing in Chicago now – stuffed,
but surely Tsavo East will provide an unforgettable experience still.

The Amboseli National Park lies just under Mt Kilimanjaro’s slops, here we can make amazing photos of the mountain. During safari we provide full board catering, and drinking water in the vehicle. Drinks and alcohol is not included in the accommodation.

First night we stay at Tsavo‐East National Park. Next day, after the morning game drive we head to Amboseli, where we have lunch. Bit a break and the late game drive comes before sunset.
Kilimanjaro is usually hiding behind clouds, the biggest chance usually to see the highest mountain in Africa is sunrise and the afternoons.
On the third morning we leave for a game drive again, and after lunch we proceed towards Nairobi.
We arrive to the capital for dinner, and spend a night in a hotel to have a good rest before flying home.

Optional program – visiting Masai village – cca 2 hours

During game drive, we will see elephants, giraffe, hippo, antelopes, monkeys and plenty of birds. With some luck we can also spot lion, cheetah, buffalo and rhino, or even the endangered wild dogs.
